Ever since Alana returned to Germany from the U.S., where she spent a year as an au pair, she knew she wanted another adventure abroad. After a longer than expected wait due to Covid, this August she finally fulfilled her wanderlust and commenced her next, big journey.<\/p>\n
First stop: Ecovis Clark Jacobs in Sydney. Why? Travelling to and around Australia is not cheap. To save up some money, the 26-year-old decided to work for six months. However, she didn\u2019t want to just work a casual job but instead gain professional experience. As a receptionist at ECJ, her daily tasks involve greeting clients, setting up meeting rooms, processing mail, and \u2013 her favourite task \u2013 answering the phone and therefore having contact with a lot of different clients.<\/p>\n
ECJ offers more benefits than just fun tasks. In Alana\u2019s opinion, ECJ pays a solid salary as a worker and traveller, and provides regular working hours, meaning a working-holiday maker can be sure not to be taken advantage of. In addition, challenges for someone new to Australia, such as applying for a TFN, have been tackled with assistance from ECJ colleagues. \u201cBut of course, meeting all my lovely co-workers with so many different cultural backgrounds, occasional Friday drinks, and walking along the most-known sights of Sydney on the way to work are a great bonus as well!\u201d Alana says.<\/p>\n
Alana loves the Australian way of living. \u201cI was welcomed with open arms right from the beginning and everyone made it so easy for me to adjust. The open-hearted way to deal with life is just great,\u201d she adds. Alana will complete her contract in January and then start travelling from Tasmania to Melbourne, up along the Great Ocean Road and back to the East Coast. \u201cOn my travels I\u2019m excited to meet more new people and broaden my cultural knowledge even further than I\u2019ve already done during my time at ECJ.\u201d<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
