Anika Knop

Go to Australia to do an internship at the Sydney office? Why not!

Anika Knop is a 23-year-old university student from Germany who has been working for the Munich office as a working student for over two years. When Alexander Weigert and Gudrun Bergdolt offered her the opportunity to spend three months in Australia as an intern at Ecovis Clark Jacobs she didn’t hesitate. Soon after, in August 2022, the adventure began. Anika packed her bags and took a plane to travel to the other side of the world.

Having gained lots of experience in the social media activities and the media presence of a company by helping to build the social media strategy and carrying out various tasks for the corporate communications department of Ecovis Germany, the goal was to transfer some of that gained knowledge. However, the benefit of working for the Sydney office surely was not single sided, but mutual. “I implemented a software program we frequently use in Germany and was able to help increase ECJ’s LinkedIn activities. At the same time, I learnt plenty! One of the most challenging tasks was event management, which I previously had no experience in. However, besides many small events at the office, @Katie even trusted me to help organize the upcoming annual staff retreat!” Anika tells about her experiences.

What she particularly likes about working for ECJ in Sydney? “Everyone’s so incredibly friendly and open-minded. I really like coming to the office every day as it’s always great fun to be around my co-workers. And almost every week there is something special going on like catered Breakfast or Friday drinks – you can really tell that ECJ does a lot to keep all employees happy,” the intern appreciates.

Even though, she still has to finish her master’s degree in Business Administration and graduate from the University of Passau, Anika already has made plans for her future career. “Having seen what Ecovis can offer me in terms of development and growth definitely convinced me to stick around for longer. I would love to start working full time in the corporate communications department and who knows – maybe I’ll get another chance to gain even more experiences abroad. The Ecovis International network is a very large network, after all,” she reveals about her future plans.
