From mid-March to the end of May, Eva, a German intern, joined ECJ as a Marketing & Events Assistant. This internship perfectly aligned with her dream of living abroad while gaining valuable work experience to shape her professional future.
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in media and communication in Germany, Eva wasn’t entirely sure of her career path after graduation. To gain more insight into her options, she decided to undertake an internship and get a glimpse into a potential professional future.
During her time at ECJ, Eva was entrusted with a wide range of responsibilities, allowing her to develop a diverse skill set. She had the opportunity to independently plan events, edit videos, and create content for LinkedIn and the ECJ website. The variety of tasks provided her with valuable hands-on experience and helped her learn and grow professionally.
Reflecting on her time at ECJ, Eva expressed her gratitude, saying, “I am very thankful for the entire experience. From day one, everyone was so kind and treated me as an equal. It never felt like I was just an ‘intern’ – I truly felt like part of the team.”
Looking back on her internship, Eva said “This time helped me develop quickly, both professionally and personally. At ECJ, I was in the best hands. I knew I could always count on everyone for support, and Katie, in particular, was amazing to work with – so kind, understanding, and confident in me.”
Outside of work, Eva enjoyed exploring Sydney. She fondly remembers her lunch breaks, walking along the Harbour Bridge. “It felt surreal because being here was a dream for so long, and then suddenly it became part of my everyday life,” she shared. “I really enjoyed living in Sydney. There are so many things to do, and I loved the combination of business and beaches – work and relaxation at the beach.”
Eva added, “If it weren’t so far from my family and friends, I could imagine living and working here long-term.” Ultimately, her internship helped her solidify her future career plans. She concluded, “It was the best decision to come to Australia and work for ECJ.”
