For Emily Chew, the ability to truly be herself at work is the thing that makes her happy. She knows she is surrounded by a supportive and friendly team, and she genuinely considers them her second family.
Hailing originally from Malaysia, Emily moved to Australia six years ago with her family. She studied at Macquarie University and ECJ is her first job. After three years, she could not be happier!
When asked what she liked most about the job, Emily’s reply was simple. “It’s the people,” she said.
“Every single day I know that my team have my back. They offer me support, advice and solutions when I need them.”
ECJ is renowned for hosting great social events, but for Emily it is the day-to-day atmosphere that she most enjoys.
When not liaising with the ATO or tax planning with clients, you’ll likely find Emily at a dance studio honing her skills in either Brazilian dance or pole dancing. Alternatively, you might find her with guitar in hand, or seated at a piano, belting out Adele. Not your typical accountant maybe, but that’s what makes her fit with ECJ.
